DATE: Friday, February 06, 2015

TIME:  3:15 A.M.

LOCATION: Culver Blvd and Braddock Ave, Culver City

VICTIM: Unknown

SUSPECT: Roy F. Dean MW/A (Transient)

UNIT: Marina del Rey Station- Detective Williams

NARRATIVE: On Friday, February 6, 2015 at 3:15 A.M., Los Angeles Police Officers detained the above suspect for a possible grand thief bike investigation. Officers saw the suspect and recognized the suspect as being a possible bike thief based on a flier circulated by Marina del Rey Detectives. Deputies responded to the location. While detaining him, they inspected the bike and saw the serial numbers were obliterated. When asked about the bike, the suspect said he was buying it from a man named “White Jay” for $300.00. He could not give Deputies any information as to where “White Jay” lived or when he was going to pay for the bike. A check of the bike showed the bike has a retail value of approximately $2,000.00. Based on the above, Roy F. Dean was arrested for Reasonable Cause Grand Thief, 496PC.

LASD, Marina del Rey Captain Joseph Stephen said, "This outstanding arrest shows that the collaboration between LAPD and LASD is truly working.  I thank the LAPD officers that detained the suspect and my peer at LAPD Pacific, Captain Brian Johnson."
