Suicidal Subject Taken Into Custody

On February 3, 2015 at approximately 1705 hours, Morgan Hill Police Officer responded to the area of Oakridge Ln on multiple 911 calls reporting a male subject smashing the windows out on several vehicles throughout the neighborhood. While Officers responded to the area, the male subject climbed on to the third story roof of his former residence and threatened to jump to the concrete patio below. Officers established a safety perimeter and initiated contact with the distraught subject, later identified as 55 year old Frank Mockey. The subject was angry over a recent divorce and active domestic violence restraining order placed against him. Officers negotiated with the suicidal subject as additional support personnel and EMS arrived at the scene. After nearly three hours of negotiations, Mockey decided to climb away from the edge of the roof and he was safely taken into custody without further incident. Mockey is being charged for felony vandalism and violation of a domestic violence restraining order. Mockey was transported and booked into County Jail.
