Manhattan Beach Fire Department Investigating Residential Fire

This message is being sent on behalf of the Manhattan Beach Fire Department

 

On February 4, 2015 at approximately 2:15 a.m. Manhattan Beach Fire Department responded to the 700 block of 11th Street regarding a residential fire.  Although family members were home, they were alerted by their dog and working smoke detectors and able to safely exit without injury.  The fire was extinguished and found to be confined to the front entrance, with significant smoke damage to the second and third floor.  The cause of the fire is suspicious in nature, but motive has yet to be determined.  MBFD Fire Investigators are currently investigating.
