On 02-02-15 at 10:12 PM Waterford Police Services deputies responded to a stabbing incident at Waterford High School in Waterford, CA. When deputies arrived they found 27 year old Josh Whitfield sitting next to the high school gymnasium. Whitfield had been stabbed in the stomach with a non-life threatening injury and he was transported to the emergency room

Whitfield, who is a basketball coach at the high school, reported that he had walked out of the school gymnasium and saw three men manipulating a door to a building on school grounds. When he confronted them they jumped him and one of the men stabbed him. The three suspects then fled the school grounds in a black colored SUV. Whitfield provided a brief description of the suspects. One of them was wearing a 49ers jersey and the other two were wearing black sweatshirts. One of the suspects in a black sweatshirt also had a bandana over his face.
