On 01-24-15 at 3:40 PM Sheriff's Deputies responded to the 2000 Block of Poland Road in Modesto, CA for several people fighting roosters in the backyard of a residence. When deputies arrived they found a rooster fighting ring, roosters, and instruments used for rooster fighting. Deputies contacted the resident and during their investigation they found approximately 50 roosters in individual cages and 3 dead roosters. Animal Control responded and took custody of the roosters. The resident, 42 year old Felix Burciago of Modesto was arrested for animal cruelty, fighting animals or birds, and possession of implements used to fight roosters.
