This is a message from the Borough of Fair Lawn. Please listen to message in its entirety.

The Blizzard Warning remains in effect until midnight Tuesday.

Road conditions will be extremely hazardous and visibility will be significantly reduced. Please stay off the roads.

Garbage and recycling collection for both Tuesday, January 27 and Wednesday January 28 has been cancelled and will not be re-scheduled.

The Borough's snow removal trucks will plow each street curb to curb numerous times throughout this snow event. Please make every effort to remove cars parked in the roadway during the storm and until the streets have been plowed sufficiently and to the extent that parking will not interfere with the normal flow of traffic. Vehicles may be ticketed and/or towed if not removed from the roadway.

Residents are also reminded that a Borough Ordinance prohibits the shoveling, placing, throwing or blowing of snow into or upon any street in Fair Lawn. The Borough would also like to remind residents that for the safety and welfare of our residents, please attempt to clear snow around fire hydrants and crosswalks.

The Borough offers the following tips to prepare:
• Charge your cell phones, tablets and other mobile devices.
• Fill up your car’s fuel tank.
• Ensure you have a battery-powered radio and a supply of fresh batteries.
• Check your supply of flashlights, blankets, nonperishable food and bottled water.
• Have matches and candles with holders on-hand.
• If electricity is interrupted, keep refrigerator doors closed as much as possible.
• Check on your neighbors.

The mini-bus services is cancelled for Tuesday, January 27 and Wednesday, January 28.

The Senior Center will be closed on Tuesday, January 28.
