Blizzard Warning in effect from 1 pm Monday until midnight Tuesday.

Snow will begin early Monday morning and continue through late Tuesday night. Total snowfall is expected to be in the 20-30 inch range. Snow fall rates could be 2-4 inches per hour. Heaviest snow will be from midnight to 1pm on Tuesday. Snow drifts of 3 + feet possible.

Winds will be 25 - 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph possible.

Temperatures will remain in the lower 20's.

Snow will accumulate on trees and power lines possibly causing power outages.

Road conditions will be extremely hazardous from Monday afternoon through Tuesday night. Roads will be impassable Tuesday. Blizzard conditions will cause zero visibility and white out conditions. Please stay off the roads if possible.

The Borough's snow removal trucks will plow each street curb to curb during this snowfall. Please make every effort to remove cars parked in the roadway during the storm and until the streets have been plowed sufficiently and to the extent that parking will not interfere with the normal flow of traffic.

Residents are also reminded that a Borough Ordinance prohibits the shoveling, placing, throwing or blowing of snow into or upon any street in Fair Lawn. The Borough would also like to remind residents that for the safety and welfare of our residents, please attempt to clear snow around fire hydrants and crosswalks.

If you experience a power outage, please call PSE&G directly at 1-800-436-7734.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding during this winter event.

Fair Lawn Emergency Management will continue to monitor this situation and issue updates as necessary
