On 01-24-15 at 7:00 PM dispatch received a call from a male who said he had shot two people. The male immediately hung up the phone and deputies were dispatched to the area of Kilburn Rd and Villamanucha RD in Crowslanding, CA.
When deputies arrived they found two cars parked on the shoulder of Kilburn Rd. Next to the vehicles were two males with gunshot wounds to their upper body. In one of the vehicles was a female who also had a gunshot wound to her upper body. The female was transported to the emergency room and she is expected to survive. Both males were pronounced deceased at the scene by emergency medical personnel.
Detectives were able to identify the male who called 911 as Mario Martinez of Keyes, CA and the female was identified as his wife Maricela Martinez of Turlock, CA. The second male has been identified as Mario Medina of Modesto, CA.
Preliminary investigation indicates that Mario Martinez shot both Mariclea Martinez and Mario Medina before killing himself. It is not clear how they ended up on Kilburn Rd and detectives are still working on a motive.
