Advisory

Auto/Residential Burglary Activity on the rise within Sierra Madre. See something, Say something!

Sierra Madre has experienced an increase in residential and vehicle burglary activity. From December 9th to today, there have been over 20 reported burglary incidents.

Please remove any items of importance and significant value from your vehicles before leaving it. Item have been stolen from both locked and unlocked vehicles. In some cases the suspects have smashed vehicle windows to access items left on the seat. If possible, hid or remove garage door openers typically left in vehicles.

For residences, always lock and secure all windows and doors. While away from home try to place money, jewelry, and small high value items in a safe.

** If you have a camera security system, please be sure it is activated, running, and working at all times or while you're away. In numerous cases, the residence had cameras but they were not activated, or had not been working and was not fixed.**

Please be vigilant and report anything that is out of place or suspicious. Do not dismiss something for being unimportant, call SMPD and we will determine the nature of the incident.
