December 26th

Vandalism- Bahman Clothiers 9825 San Pablo Avenue
At 1003 hours, an officer responded to a report of vandalism. An unknown suspect attempted to break the front glass door to the business but was unsuccessful and only cracked the glass. The incident occurred sometime over the Christmas holiday.

Vehicle Pursuit and Violation of a Criminal Protective Order
At 1019 hours, an officer attempted to stop a vehicle for a vehicle code violation. The driver failed to yield and took the officer on a pursuit which ended when the suspect vehicle left the roadway on Alhambra Valley Road near Castro Ranch Road. The 28 year old male driver from Richmond was taken into custody and the 32 year old female passenger was detained. The man was driving on a suspended license and a recent court restraining order prohibited him from having any contact with the female passenger. The officer booked the man at the El Cerrito Police Department and then transported him to the county jail in Martinez.

Commercial Burglary- Albany Music School 9825 San Pablo Avenue
At 1422 hours, an officer responded to a report of a commercial burglary. An unknown suspect broke a window to the business to gain entry and steal a television, drum set, amplifier and DVD player. The incident occurred sometime over the Christmas holiday.

Possession of a controlled substance, Possession of identifying information, Possession of drug paraphernalia, Driving with a suspended driver license – San Pablo Avenue / Blake Street
At 1923 hours, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop and found that the driver, a 32-year-old Dublin man was driving with a suspended driver license. The man was also on probation in Alameda County. A search of his vehicle produced several checks and credit cards from other persons. A search of the passenger, a 41-year-old Oakley woman produced methamphetamine and two glass pipes. Both were arrested and booked at the El Cerrito Police Department. After booking, both were released pending follow up.

Vehicle Theft / Recovery – 700 block of Kearney Street
Between 1400 and 2300 hours, an unknown suspect stole the victim’s 1995 Toyota Camry. After taking the report, the officer located a 1990 Honda Accord that had been reported stolen to Richmond PD on the 24th.

Driving under the influence – San Pablo Avenue / Washington Avenue
At 0120 hours, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop and arrested the driver, a 22-year-old San Pablo man for driving under the influence of alcohol. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released to a sober friend.

Battery – Nation’s 6060 Central Avenue
At 0307 hours, officers were dispatched to Nation’s after a clerk pushed the panic alarm. Officers arrived to find a victim of battery. The victim was confronted by a suspect and punched repeatedly in the face. The suspect fled prior to police arrival. The suspect is described as a black male adult in his 20’s, 6’4, 200 lbs.

December 27th

Warrant arrest – 10500 block of San Pablo Avenue
At 1936 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian enforcement stop and arrested a 27-year-old transient man for an outstanding warrant. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

December 28th

Stolen Vehicle- 2700 Block of Sonoma Avenue
At 1204 hours, an officer responded to a report of a stolen vehicle. The victim’s 1992 Honda Accord was stolen overnight.

Shoplifting- Safeway 11450 San Pablo Avenue
At 1349 hours an officer responded to a report of a shoplifting. The suspect fled the store however the officer located the 55 year old man from San Francisco across the street behind IHOP. The officer accepted the citizen’s arrest of the man for stealing $177 worth of meat. The officer booked the man at the El Cerrito Police Department and then released him with a citation.

Shoplifting, Warrant arrest – Lucky’s 1000 El Cerrito Plaza
An officer accepted the citizen’s arrest of a 34-year-old El Sobrante man after he entered Lucky’s, placed merchandise in his suitcase and left without paying. The man was followed to CVS where he was apprehended by police. The man was found to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest from a previous theft case. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
