CCPD Seeks the Public’s Assistance in Identifying a Street Racing Suspect
The Culver City Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a vehicle that was involved in a major traffic collision while street racing. The collision occurred on 11/28/2014 at approximately 2:45 PM, on Slauson Avenue east of Buckingham Pkwy near the Westfield Culver City Mall. After losing control, one of the racers allegedly struck the other, and the resultant collision involved a total of eight vehicles with 11 injured parties. Witnesses stated that one of the racers stopped briefly, surveyed the scene, and then fled the area in a silver or white 2004 to 2006 Ford Mustang GT hardtop. The Mustang was reported to have sustained moderate front end damage and red paint transfer to the passenger front side from the other racing vehicle (a red mustang). The outstanding vehicle may additionally have passenger side rim damage from a curb impact.
Suspect Vehicle:
A 2004-2006 Silver Ford Mustang GT Hardtop, moderate collision damage to front end, with possible red paint transfer to passenger side, and possible damage to rims on passenger side (see attached stock photo of a similar vehicle).
It is believed that the owner/driver of the outstanding vehicle may attempt to disassociate himself from this event by falsely reporting a different set of loss, facts, and location.
