It is the goal of the Rutgers University Police Department to recruit and attract qualified individuals to pursue a career with the Rutgers University Police Department with emphasis on recruiting minority and female officers with an end towards establishing an ethnic and gender composition within our sworn law enforcement ranks. The RUPD is not a Civil Service agency and the officers participate in the Police and Fire Retirement System with state benefits.
