UPDATE 12-17-2014- The Rahway Police Department would like to thank the public for their assistance in the fatal hit and run accident (investigation) that had occurred on Friday 12/12/2014 The suspect has been identified and arrested.

On 12/12/14 at approximately 5:38 PM a serious motor vehicle accident occurred at the intersection of St George Ave & Race St. The accident involved an green colored Nissan Altima that struck a pedestrian as he attempted to cross St. George Ave. The pedestrian was transported to Robert Wood Hospital in Rahway where he succumbed to injuries sustained from the accident.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the vehicle is identified as a green 2002-2006 Nissan Altima was traveling south on St. George Ave when it struck the pedestrian and fled southbound on St. George Ave toward Woodbridge.
