Auto Burglary and Assault with a Deadly Weapon
Location: 3000 Block of Stevens Creek Boulevard
An officer used an unmarked car to perform surveillance. The officer witnessed male suspect #1 drive around the parking lot with a passenger, suspect #2. Male suspect #2 exited the vehicle, smashed the window of an unoccupied parked vehicle, and removed a purse and wallet before reuniting with suspect #1 in the vehicle.

As suspect #1 drove towards Winchester Boulevard, an officer in a marked patrol vehicle stopped in front of the vehicle. Suspect #1 attempted to back up and made contact with another officer’s marked patrol vehicle that had pulled up behind him. Suspect #2 exited the vehicle, dropped the victim’s purse and ran on foot into Macy's cutlery department. After a brief struggle, suspect #2 was arrested.

Meanwhile, suspect #1 raced westbound through the parking lot past Safeway and turned southbound on Winchester Blvd in the northbound lanes. An officer in a marked patrol vehicle turned into the number one lane while the suspect drove southbound in the same lane, accelerated and struck the officer’s car head on. The suspect was arrested without further incident.

A Records check revealed suspect #1 was on active probation for burglary. A laptop computer that had been stolen in an auto burglary in Milpitas was found in the suspect's truck. Time: 2032

Residential Burglary
Location: 2100 Block of Agnew Road
An unknown suspect(s) entered a residence on the 2100 block of Agnew through an unlocked ground level window. The suspect stole electronics and a mountain bike before exiting through the front door. The suspect(s) remain outstanding.

Warrant Arrest
Location: 900 Block of Homestead Road
An officer was driving eastbound on Homestead Road near the American Legion Hall where a male subject was observed walking westbound and signaled for the officer’s attention. The officer stopped to investigate the subject’s behavior. A Records check revealed the subject had a felony warrant for his arrest. He was taken into custody without incident.

Attempted Burglary
Location: 1600 Block of Hope Drive
A male suspect attempted to force entry into a locked storage unit on the 1600 block of Hope Drive. An anonymous individual contacted Dispatchers while the incident was in progress. The suspect was caught by officers at the scene, possessed burglary tools and showed objective symptoms of drug intoxication.

A Records check revealed the suspect was on parole. He was arrested and transported to the County jail.

Burglary
Location: Great America Parkway and Tasman Drive
A van with three occupants followed the UPS vehicle. When the UPS vehicle stopped at Tasman Drive at the Convention Center for a red light, two suspects exited the van, broke the lock on the UPS vehicle and stole several boxes. The suspect’s returned to the van and fled the area. Evidence from this case has been forwarded to the Detective’s Division for investigation.

Commercial Burglary
Location: 3700 Block of Stevens Creek Boulevard
An officer was dispatched to the St. Claire Cadillac dealership on the 3700 block of Stevens Creek Boulevard to investigate a report of a burglary. An unknown suspect(s) cut pad locks on a metal storage container used by the dealership to house equipment and stole items from inside. The unknown suspect(s) is still at large.

Residential Burglary
Location: 3100 Block of Warburton Avenue
An officer responded to the 3100 block of Warburton Avenue on the report of a residential burglary. The suspect(s) forced entry into the house, stole jewelry and wrapped Christmas presents that were under the tree. At the time of this report, the suspect(s) have not been identified.

Assault with a Deadly Weapon
Location: 1500 Block of Lafayette Street
Officers responded to the 1500 block of Lafayette Street on the report of a fight. The female victim approached a group of individuals inside the bar and asked them to leave. One of the individuals responded by hitting her over the head with a hard object and causing a significant head injury. The victim was transported to a local hospital. The suspect is at large.

Assault with a Deadly Weapon
Location: 3200 Block of El Camino Real
The reporting party called Dispatch after witnesses two or three subjects fighting at the rear of a business on the 3200 block of El Camino Real. The Santa Clara Fire Department immediately transported the victim to a local hospital for severe head trauma. The suspects remain at large.
