*CORRECTION* #LASD Homicide Investigates possible human remains found in LA river bed, city of Maywood

Correction:  The human skull was located just north of Slauson Avenue and west of the Long Beach 710 Freeway, just east of District Boulevard, in the city of Bell.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department (LASD) Homicide detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the possible human remains found just north of Slauson Avenue and west of the San Gabriel 605 Freeway in the City of Bell.

 

Detectives have learned that East Los Angeles deputies were contacted after a man and a woman discovered what appeared to be a human skull as they walked in the Los Angeles river bed.

 

LASD Homicide detectives have confirmed that the remains are of a human skull.  It is unknown how long the human skull has been at the location.

 

The cause of death and identity of the victim is yet to be determined.

 

There is no additional information available at this time.
