San Mateo PAL COMMUNITY & MEDIA ALERT: Tues. Dec.16th, PAL Will Be Awarded 5% of San Mateo Whole Food's Revenue!
San Mateo PAL Community & Media Alert
For the second year in a row, the San Mateo Police Activities League has been selected as the local nonprofit to receive funding from “Whole Foods 5% Day”. San Mateo PAL will be the recipient of 5% of the day’s total revenue at the San Mateo Whole Foods Market located at 1010 Park Place in San Mateo. PAL’s 5% Day takes place on Tuesday, December 16, 2014.
From 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. 5% of each purchase will go to San Mateo PAL, supporting programs for local underserved youth who live or attend school in San Mateo, Foster City, Burlingame and Hillsborough.
At peak hours of 11:00 to 1:00 and 4:00 to 6:00, San Mateo Police Officers, Cadets and School Resource Officers will serve as grocery baggers for cashiers at the check stands. There will also be a table set up in the front of the store manned by PAL staff and Board members with information on how to join PAL, applications for memberships, activity guides and registration forms, and donation envelopes.
“Having our 5% Day right in the midst of the Holiday season and the first day of Chanukah couldn’t be a better timing for PAL. We are very grateful to Whole Foods Market, particularly Store Manager Hsu-Lien Rivera, for selecting PAL and being such a staunch supporter,” said San Mateo Police Chief Susan E. Manheimer.
So save up your holiday shopping and come out to the Whole Foods Market on Tuesday, December 16 and meet your San Mateo Police Officers, board members, and PAL staff! You’ll be helping to support our local youth! Happy Holidays from the San Mateo Police Activities League!
