West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station “Gifts for Guns” Program

 

Who:  The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, West Hollywood Station in conjunction with the City of West Hollywood.   

 

What:  West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station in conjunction with the City of West Hollywood will host a “Gifts for Guns” program.  

 

This program provides an opportunity for residents to safely and anonymously surrender any firearm to the Sheriff’s Department in exchange for a gift card ($400 for assault weapons, $100 for a handgun, rifle, or shotgun and $50 for a non-operational firearm) redeemable at Target or Ralphs Markets.  Participants will be directed to checkpoints where the firearms will be located, inventoried, surrendered and rendered safe.  A total of $15,000 dollars’ worth of gift cards will be available on Saturday’s event while supplies last. These gift cards were purchased by the City of West Hollywood.

 

Citizens should transport unloaded weapons in the trunk of their vehicle to the collection center.  Deputy personnel and authorized volunteers will be available for members of the community to safely surrender any firearm.  Following the exchange, the citizen will be presented with a gift card.

 

When: Saturday, December 13, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

               West Hollywood, California 90046 

 

Enter the park at Fountain Avenue and Vista Street, north end of the Park
