The spirit of giving is shining at the Fallbrook Sheriff's Substation.
Deputies and a chaplain joined forces to help a man in need.
Three years ago, Jason helped deputies in arresting two gang members behind a flooding vandalism of an apartment complex.
While out on patrol last week, Deputy Randall Wilkinson ran into Jason. Deputy Wilkinson asked how Jason and his family were doing. Jason shared that money is a bit tight because his wife needs Parkinson's medication and rent is also due. His wife asked him not to buy the meds so they can pay rent. Jason was heartbroken because stopping the meds could mean losing his wife.
Deputy Wilkinson put Jason in touch with the substation's chaplain Pastor Dennis Ginoza. Pastor Ginoza was able to reach out to St. Vincent de Paul and come up with a check for $3,500. The amount will cover the rent and meds.
