The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for San Diego County through 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 26th.
It means conditions are ripe for a wildfire to start.
*Extremely dry air
*Gusty winds
*Warm temperatures
*Low Humidity (lack of moisture or water in the air) *Dry brush all over the county
What can you do?
*Be vigilant - if you smell smoke or see a fire, call 9-1-1
*Do not burn trash
*Do not throw cigarette butts onto the ground or out of moving cars.
*Avoid using outdoor cooking equipment or grills during these times.
*Avoid using a lawn mower or weed whacker for now; both equipment can cause sparks which will start fires.
*Keep cars parked on driving surfaces and do not drive through tall grass. Catalytic converters are known for sparking fires on the grass below.
*Pulling a trailer? Make sure your chains are not touching the ground.
*If you have fireplace ashes; put them into a sealed metal container placed on a concrete surface away from structures. If possible - wait to clean your fireplace until this weather event is over.
