Gloucester Township Police Media Release UPDATE: Suspicious Van Reported To GTPD, Chews Landing Rd by Little Gloucester Rd 11-16-2014

On November 16, 2014 at approximately 2:19 PM, the Gloucester Township Police were called to a home on Chews Landing Road to investigate the report of a suspicious vehicle. The father of two juvenile females reported that an older model, possibly late 90’s, white, Ford Conversion van had stopped on the roadway near where his young daughters were playing in a field adjacent to their residence.

The father noticed the van as he was in his garage and started to approach the van when the van abruptly left the area. The caller reported that the van was all white, with a darker blue trim, a blue spare tire cover matching the trim and tinted windows. The vehicle was also reported to have a star sticker on the rear door and may be missing paint or have rust spots above the passenger side window. The van has New Jersey registration with the two of the characters being “X” and “L” (unknown placement within the set of characters).

The van was reported to be occupied by two white males with the passenger gesturing for the juveniles to approach the vehicle. The vehicle left the area on Chews Landing Road towards Somerdale Road. The driver was described as a white male wearing all dark clothing. The passenger was described as a white male with brown eyes and dark brown hair. He was reportedly wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and a black wool type ski hat. The passenger was also reportedly smoking a cigarette.

This incident is currently under investigation by the Gloucester Township Police Department Investigation Bureau Juvenile Unit.
