Ribbon Cutting for Memorial Park Exercise Area

SANTA ANA, CA. – The City of Santa Ana is excited to announce the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the Memorial Exercise Park on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at 4pm. Memorial Exercise Park, located at 2102 S. Flower Street, will be the City’s fourth exercise park and join locations at Birch Park, Garfield Park and the Maple/Occidental Exercise Area as part of the City’s ongoing efforts to encourage health and wellness in the community.

The new exercise area is constructed under a colorful canvas shade structure adjacent to the Memorial Community Center. Visitors will enjoy nine new exercise stations including a leg press, chest press, sit-up bench, cross country ski, upper body and more. The new exercise area also features wheelchair accessible exercise equipment.

This new exercise area was made possible through a partnership with America on Track. America on Track provides programs that focus on leadership development, mentoring, fitness & nutrition, drug use prevention, and academic achievement for children and families in the community.

TREE LIGHTING CEREMONY IN DOWNTOWN SANTA ANA

SANTA ANA, CA (November 10, 2014) – Join the City of Santa Ana as we kick off the holiday season with our inaugural Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at 7 pm on the corner of Fourth and French Streets.

The city will install a 30-ft tree in the downtown area as well as holiday lights throughout the downtown for the enjoyment of all residents and visitors during this holiday season. The tree will be lit nightly for residents and visitors to enjoy. Bring your camera and capture your holiday family photo by the tree.

The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served. Bring the family and create new memories at this festive holiday celebration in the heart of Downtown Santa Ana.

City of Santa Ana to Host OC Blues Soccer Club and El Salvador's CD Marte in the Blues First International Match Since Rebranding

SANTA ANA, CA (November 12, 2014) – The City of Santa Ana is hosting the Orange County Blues FC soccer team in an international friendly match against El Salvador Primera Division side Club Deportivo Atlético Marte on Sunday, November 16th at 4pm at Santa Ana Stadium. This will be the first International match for the recently rebranded OC Blues FC and their first ever game at Santa Ana Stadium.

"This is a great opportunity for the City of Santa Ana. This is a chance to see world class soccer players right here at our home stadium. We hope visitors who come out to enjoy the international match will take the opportunity visit our downtown and that this will be the first of many games," said Mayor Miguel Pulido.

"Santa Ana has a large soccer playing population as well as a large contingent of Salvadoran people. We are excited to bring the OC Blues and our international opponent in front of this soccer loving community," said Jon Spencer, the OC Blues General Manager.
CD Marte will be coming to Orange County with four Salvadorian National Team members on their roster: defender Mario Martinez, defender Marcelo Tejeda, forward Danis Ramirez, and defender Francisco Garcia, who just earned his first call up with the national team for their recent friendlies against Colombia and the Korea Republic.

CD Marte has won eight Primera Division titles. They also won the CONCACAF Cup Winners Cup in 1991, and were the runners-up in the 1981 CONCACAF Champions League, then called the CONCACAF Champions Cup. The 45,000 seat Estadio Cuscatlan in San Salvador serves as the home pitch for "Los Maricanos" as well as the Salvadorian National team.

Tickets for the Atletico Marte vs Blues match are available for $25 for general admission seating, while groups of 10 or more can be purchased for $22. Ceremonia de Inauguración Para La Área de Ejercicio en Memorial

SANTA ANA, California - La Ciudad de Santa Ana se complace en anunciar la ceremonia de inauguración para la Área de Ejercicio en el Parque Memorial el martes, 18 de noviembre 2014 a las 4:00 pm. El Parque de Ejercicio Memorial, situado en 2102 S. Flower, será el cuarto parque de ejercicio y se une a los parques de ejercicio en Birch, Garfield y el área de ejercicio de Maple/Occidental que se lleva acabo como parte de los esfuerzos de la ciudad de promover la salud y bienestar en la comunidad.

La nueva área de ejercicio se construyó bajo una estructura de sombra colorida de lienzo a lado del Centro Comunitario de Memorial. Los visitantes podrán disfrutar de nueve estaciones de equipo de ejercicio incluyendo equipos para ejercicios de piernas, pecho, banco para abdominales, parte superior del cuerpo y otros ejercicios. La nueva área de ejerció será accesible por personas discapacitadas.

El Publico está Invitado a La Primera Ceremonia Anual de Iluminación Del Árbol Navideño de la Ciudad en el Centro de Santa Ana

SANTA ANA, California – Únase a La Ciudad de Santa Ana a dar comienzo a la temporada festiva con la primer ceremonia anual de iluminación del árbol navideño el miércoles, 19 de noviembre 2014 a las 7:00 pm en la esquina de las calles Cuatro y French.

La ciudad va a instalar un árbol de 30 pies de altura en el centro de Santa Ana para que todos los residentes y visitantes lo disfruten durante esta temporada festiva. El árbol será iluminado todos los días para que los residentes y visitantes lo disfruten. Traiga su cámara y tome su foto familiar navideña con el árbol.
