Suisun City PD urges residents to be alert for IRS phone scam

Suisun City Police have received several reports regarding phone calls from persons claiming to be IRS agents who say they or a family member owe money for unpaid taxes. The victims are told they can avoid arrest, foreclosure or suspension/termination of services if they make a payment.

Please be aware that the IRS will never ask for credit card numbers over the phone, nor will they request a pre-paid card or wire transfer.
