Emails sent from State of NH [email protected] asking residents to update is valid, please comply with the request.

Residents in Town may receive an e-mail from the email address of "[email protected]" stating-

"You are being contacted in regards to your existing account with the New Hampshire Emergency Notification System N H E N S.The State of New Hampshire and its vendor, the Emergency Communications Network, have upgraded the self-registration portion of the New Hampshire ENS. Unfortunately due to the original Privacy Agreement, we are unable to move any of the existing account information to the new site. We apologize for the inconvenience but we would ask that you please visit the new sign-up page and re-create your account. Please log on to ReadyNH.gov. There you will to find the new link to Sign Up for Emergency Alerts.Thank you for your understanding"

I have been in contact with the Bureau of Emergency Communications and have verified this is a valid email. Changes had to be made to their system due to privacy regulations, resulting in the need to upgrade the database. The from email address is modified to prevent emails being sent to it as it is not monitored.

Residents not currently signed up for Statewide Emergency Alerts can get more information from ReadyNH.gov. Local alerts can subscribed to through the town website, and at Nixle.com (select Washington, NH).
