The New York State Department of Transportation (DOT) announced temporary road closures due to bridge (overpass) maintenance in the Arlington area of the Town of Poughkeepsie.

The DOT states Route 44 eastbound, between Fairmont Avenue and the merge with Main Street , will be closed beginning Monday October 27th through November 10th. This is the section of Route 44 that begins just after the Route 44/55 split by Pizzeria Uno’s. Motorists will be detoured onto Route 55 and then directed to the jug handle (right side) intersection with Burnett Boulevard in order to return to Route 44.

Then, beginning on November 11th through November 26th, the DOT will close both the eastbound and westbound sections of Main Street that pass under the Route 55 overpass, between Fairmont Avenue and the merge with Route 44. Eastbound motorists on Main Street will be detoured onto Fairmont Avenue, and then onto Route 44 eastbound.
