Advisory

Recent reports of burglaries in Washington, be vigilant and aware, watch the house of neighbors who are away.

The Police Department has taken 2 reports recently of burglaries in the Bailey Rd. area. Both were in unoccupied, abandoned appearing homes. The time frame was between May and earlier this month.

Residents are reminded and encouraged to be vigilant and aware of their surroundings and activities in the neighborhood. Anyone seeing something that is out of place or "just not right" for the area is asked to take notes or call the police. Do not take action or confront anyone on your own.

If a car or person is in a public place (.i.e. street or road) or a private place that can seen from a public place (i.e. someone can be seen in a yard by someone on the road) then pictures can be taken to be used for future reference. Have a game camera you are not using right now? Point it at the house next door where the neighbor has gone south for the season, or is simply not around anymore.

Report all suspicious activity and vehicles to the Washington Police Department at 603-495-3233,or for emergencies use 911. DO NOT call the police station and leave a message on the voice mail.

Anyone leaving for the season should send in a vacant house check form (www.//washingtonNH.org> Forms Documents)
