To Be Released from Stony Brook University Hospital

Officer Nicholas Guerrero to be transported to rehabilitation facility

 

Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone, Suffolk County Police Commissioner Edward Webber and Stony Brook University Hospital Chief, Division of Trauma, Emergency Surgery, and Surgical Critical Care, Dr. James Vosswinkel will be holding a news conference on October 17 to discuss the recovery and release of Suffolk County Police Officer Nicholas Guerrero.

 

Officer Guerrero and his partner were struck by a vehicle fleeing a traffic stop on Partridge Lane in Huntington on September 22. Officer Guerrero suffered a serious head injury and was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital where he has been since the incident.

 

County Executive Bellone and Commissioner Webber will discuss Officer Guerrero, both professionally and personally. Dr. Vosswinkel will address Officer Guerrero’s injuries and treatment. Officer Guerrero will not be participating in the press conference but will be available for photos/video as he is released from the hospital into a waiting ambulance to be transported to a rehabilitation facility. Members of the department will be on hand to support the officer as he is released from hospital.
