Police Canine Walk Through at Jewel Middle School
This morning, the North Aurora Police Department and school administrators conducted a police canine walk through of Jewel Middle School, 1501 Waterford Rd. The walk through was conducted at the request of the school administration and with the assistance of officers and canines from the Aurora Police Department, Kane County Sheriff’s Office, and Naperville Police Department.
Students and teachers remained in their classrooms while the canines walked through unoccupied hallways. We’re happy to report that no drugs or other contraband was found. The detail began at 9:00 a.m. and was completed at approximately 9:40 a.m.
The intent of the unannounced walk through was to confirm that no illegal drugs were present in the school and to send the message that drugs will not be tolerated in schools.
