Suspect Apprehend related to Larceny from Motor Vehicle Complaints

Recently there have been multiple complaints made to the Muskegon Police Department regarding the thefts of items from unsecured vehicles on the Westside of the City. Cell phones, money, charging cords, GPS units, CD’s, and car stereos appear to be the target of these opportunistic thieves.

In the early morning hours of Friday, October 10, 2014 Officers of the Muskegon Police Department located a 23 year old Muskegon man prowling in the 2600 block of Lakeshore Dr. This man had in his possession numerous items believed to have been taken from area vehicles. Also found in his possession were tools used to aid in the entry of secured doors. Some of the items found on this subject have already been linked to open and newly reported Larceny from Motor Vehicle complaints. If you have been the victim of a Larceny from a Motor Vehicle, in particularly in the area near the Muskegon County Club, and you have not yet reported that crime, please contact the Muskegon Police Department at (231) 724-6750 to report that incident. If you have already made a complaint with an Officer, please know that Officials will be working to identify and return all the stolen items recovered to their rightful owners.

The Muskegon Police Department encourages all citizens to lock their home and vehicle doors, conceal items of value left in vehicles, and to report any suspicious person or vehicles observed. Please immediately call 911 and report the plate of the vehicle, and a description of the person and their last known direction of travel.
