On 10-8-2014 Rutherford County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Richard Lee Felder in connection with the child injured in accidental shooting on 10-1-2014.
Felder was charged with Possession of firearm by felon and resist/obstruct/delaying a public officer.
Felder was booked into the Rutherford County Dentition Facility and later released after posting a $16,500.00 bond.
The case is still under investigation by the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office.

On October 1, 2014 at 3:47pm the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office responded to 164 Helen’s Lane reference to a gun shot.
Upon arrival deputies found a seven year old female juvenile victim with a gunshot wound from a small caliber handgun to her buttock.
The victim was transported to Spartanburg Regional Hospital by Rutherford County EMS.
The victim, two family members and a neighbor friend all young juveniles located a backpack with a gun in a wooded area behind Helen’s Lane near the victims residence.
One of the juveniles pulled the gun out and the victim was accidentally shot.
Rutherford County D.S.S. responded out as well.
The case is still under investigation by the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office and Rutherford County D.S.S.
