Neighborhood Watch Community Meeting about Disaster Preparedness on Thursday, October 16 at 7:00 PM

On Thursday, October 16, the Neighborhood Watch program of the Manhattan Beach Police Department is hosting an informational meeting about disaster preparedness and the Neighborhood Watch program.   The meeting starts at 7:00 PM at the Joslyn Community Center (1601 N. Valley Drive, Manhattan Beach). 

Hear from Map Your Neighborhood (MYN), Community  Emergency Response Team (CERT), the Manhattan Beach Fire Department, and Manhattan Beach's 911 Call Center (RCC).  Learn more about the upcoming City-wide Shake Out drill on October 25 at 10:25 AM when an extensive training exercise takes place on the streets of Manhattan Beach.  Find out from past drill participants the value of practicing the nine (9) steps of MYN to get ready for the Big One.

Exhibitors include RCC Call Center, CERT, MBPD Community Affairs office, Map Your Neighborhood, and Neighborhood Watch.

For over 30 years, Manhattan Beach Neighborhood Watch has worked tirelessly to involve the community in home/personal safety education, deterring crime, and looking out for one another.  Residents who have an interest in learning more about Manhattan Beach Neighborhood Watch and how to join with hundreds of others in the prevention of crime are welcome and encouraged to attend.
