Female Shot on Bratton Street

Columbia Police Chief Skip Holbrook announces that CPD Officers are investigating an overnight homicide that occurred shortly after midnight at the 2600 block of Bratton Street.

It is believed that the female victim and a large group were standing outside of a residence when several shots were fired from what witnesses describe as a 4-door burgundy car.

The victim was shot in the lower body and pronounced deceased at a local hospital.

CPD collected evidence from the scene and continues to follow leads.

The Richland County Coroner’s Office is working with CPD on the investigation.
