Assault with a Deadly Weapon
Location: Washington Street and Newhall Street
Units responded to a lounge at the corner of Washington Street at Newhall Street on the report of a shooting in the parking lot. The suspect(s) had fled, and the victim was walking around the parking lot with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. The victim is expected to make a full recovery. Witnesses were interviewed and leads are being identified by investigating detectives.

Warrant Arrest
Location: Stevens Creek Boulevard and Tyler Avenue
An officer performed a traffic enforcement stop, for a red light violation, at the intersection of Stevens Creek Boulevard and Tyler Avenue. The officer contacted both occupants of the vehicle. The female passenger was found to have a $10,000 warrant for her arrest from the San Jose Police Department. She was arrested and transported to the County jail.

Warrant Arrest
Location: El Camino Real and Benton Street
An officer conducted a traffic stop on a female subject bicycling eastbound on the south sidewalk of El Camino Real. A Records check revealed she had a $10,000 misdemeanor warrant. The suspect admitted she had methamphetamine inside her purse. She was arrested and transported to the County jail.

Driving Under the Influence
Location: Lafayette Street and Aldo Avenue
An officer was dispatched to a vehicle collision in the area of Lafayette Street and Aldo Avenue. The reporting party advised the officer that the other driver appeared to be intoxicated and witnessed him throwing a beer can out of the vehicle. The driver displayed objective symptoms of alcohol intoxication, admitted to drinking alcohol and throwing a beer can from his vehicle. He was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and having a suspended driver's license. He was arrested, transported to the Temporary Holding Facility and later released.

Attempted Murder / Residential Burglary
Location: 3100 Block of Cabrillo Avenue
Officers responded to an interrupted burglary on the 3100 block of Cabrillo Avenue. Investigators learned that a male subject forced open a screen from an open kitchen window. The suspect was confronted by a male and female who reside in the home. The male resident was stabbed several times by the suspect. The female occupant was not injured. The victim was transported to a local hospital and is expected to survive his injuries.
The suspect was located nearby, hiding in shrubbery. He was taken into custody and transported to the County jail.

NOTE: Investigators learned of a similar assault which occurred on Calabazas Boulevard at approximately 0215 hours. In this assault, the male suspect approached a female who was sleeping inside her vehicle. The suspect knocked on the window and the female opened the window. The suspect reached inside and assaulted the female with a knife. She screamed for help and the suspect fled. The female then drove herself to a local hospital.

Warrant Arrest
Location: Homestead Road at Lawrence Expressway
An officer observed a vehicle driving with expired tags near the intersection of Homestead Road and Lawrence Expressway. The officer conducted an enforcement stop. A Records check revealed the male driver had three misdemeanor warrants for his arrest, totaling $203,000. The suspect was arrested and transported to the County jail without incident.

Drugs and Weapon Arrest
Location: 2100 Block of The Alameda
An officer observed the male suspect riding his bicycle on the sidewalk, a violation of the Municipal Code. When the officer went to contact the suspect, he quickly removed a fixed blade knife hanging on a string from under his shirt. The suspect discarded the knife and attempted to evade the officer. The officer arrested the suspect for possession of a dirk or dagger without further incident.
While talking to the suspect, the officer determined he was under the influence of a controlled substance and in possession of methamphetamine and a shaved key. Additional charges of under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and possession of burglary tools were added before being transported to the County jail.
