Atlantic County Seeks Public Input To Promote Post-Sandy Redevelopment and Resiliency

Atlantic County Seeks Public Input
To Promote Post-Sandy Redevelopment and Resiliency
Atlantic County is seeking input from the public for preparation of a Strategic Recovery Planning Report that will serve to assist affected municipalities in their efforts to rebuild their communities in the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy and reduce their vulnerabilities to future disasters.
A public information meeting, hosted by the Atlantic County Office of Policy and Planning, will be held on Wednesday, October 15 at 6 PM at the Brigantine Community Center, 265 42nd Street, Brigantine.
“We are interested in hearing the experiences, concerns and suggestions of residents, businesses, emergency responders and anyone who was affected by Superstorm Sandy,” explained Dennis Levinson, Atlantic County Executive.
The report is being funded as part of the state’s $5 million Post Sandy Planning Assistance Grant Program available to Atlantic County and eight other counties most severely impacted by Sandy. It aims to support long range planning for community redevelopment and increase community resilience. The report is expected to be completed before the end of this year.
