**Update**#LASD Deputy Involved Shooting, Suspect Hit, No Deps Injured, Century Station

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding a Deputy Involved Shooting.

Detectives learned that Century Station deputies responded to the location regarding an assault with a deadly weapon call. When deputies arrived, they were met by a victim with apparent stab wounds.

The victim was able to direct deputies to the location of the suspect, at the rear of residence. As deputies attempted to detain the suspect, the suspect produced a knife and attempted to assault the deputies.  The deputies initially administered less-lethal force, but it was ineffective. The suspect continued his assault on the deputies, at which time a deputy involved shooting occurred.

The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene.

A knife was recovered at the location.

The stabbing-victim was transported to a local hospital.  His condition is unknown at this time.

No deputies were injured.

There is no additional information at this time.

Whenever an Officer-Involved Shooting occurs involving Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies, and it results in a fatality of a suspect, multiple independent investigations immediately begin at the scene. These include separate investigations by the Offices of the L.A. Co. District Attorney and the L.A. Co. Coroner, in addition to Sheriff's Homicide Bureau and Internal Affairs Bureau. Attorneys with the Los Angeles Office of Independent Review also respond to the scene, and have full access to the facts known to the sheriff's department throughout every phase of these thorough investigations. Once concluded, every aspect of the shooting is reviewed by the Sheriff's Executive Force Review Committee.
