On October 2nd, 2014, John Arthur Loyd, 52, of Hollister was arrested for a report of sexual assault on a female student at Paradise Elementary School. John Loyd is a 5th grade teacher at Paradise Elementary School. The crime allegedly occurred this month while school was in session inside John Loyd’s classroom on more than one occasion.
Morgan Hill Police Detectives are working with the school district to notify parents and asking parents to talk with their children to see if there are any other victims. Police encourage parents of potential victims to notify police before going into a detailed interview with their child. Mr. Loyd was booked into Santa Clara County Jail on charges of Penal Code 288(a)—Lewd and Lascivious Acts with a Child under 14, 288(c)(1)—Lewd and Lascivious Acts with a Child/Suspect 24 years + older, 288(a)(2)—Lewd and Lascivious Acts Upon a Child as a Care-Taker, 647.6—Annoying or Molesting a Child, 136.12—Preventing or Dissuading a Victim/Witness
