The Pocatello Police Department will be in the front parking lot of City Hall on Saturday, September 27th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. All prescription on non-prescription medications will be accepted, including liquids. NO NEEDLES, IV tubing or IV bags will be accepted. Police officers and students from the ISU College of Pharmacy will be on hand to accept and properly secure the medications. This program brings in roughly 1,700 lbs of discarded medication each year. The medicine is handled just as evidence and is transported to Salt Lake City where it is disposed of in a DEA approved medical waste incinerator.
