Pocahontas County Homeland Security & Emergency Management along with Pocahontas Memorial Hospital and members of Fire, EMS and law enforcement in Pocahontas County, will be participating in an emergency services educational training exercise on Wednesday, September 17^th, 2014 from 10:00AM until mid-afternoon.   This exercise will involve a simulated vehicle collision with a hazardous material involved for the purposes of educating emergency responders and staff at Pocahontas Memorial Hospital on the set-up and operation of the hospital’s hazardous material decontamination equipment.

Though there will be an increased amount of emergency personnel in the area and radio communications, please be reminded that this is only a simulated response for the purpose of training and education.  Pocahontas Memorial Hospital will remain open for all normal patient care services, and emergency response personnel will be available to handle any actual emergency that should arise.
