The Milwaukee Police Department is investigating a rash armed robberies which occurred overnight (Tuesday into Wednesday) on Milwaukee's East side. In one of the robberies, a shot was fired at a victim but nobody was hit. One person was also the victim of a carjacking.
In each robbery, a group of subjects approached the victim or victims as they were walking or parking vehicles and demanded property at gunpoint.
All of these robberies occurred south of Shorewood.
The armed robberies were reported at:
■ 700 block of E. Lyon St. at 10:50 p.m. Tuesday.
■ 2300 block of N. Cambridge Ave. at 11:10 p.m. Tuesday.
■ 1800 block of N. Humboldt Ave. at 11:15 p.m. Tuesday.
■ 900 block of E. Pleasant St. at 11:25 p.m. Tuesday.
■ 1700 block of N. Pulaski St. at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday.
■ 1000 block of E. Knapp St. at 12:30 a.m. Wednesday (A car was taken in this robbery)
■ 3200 block of N. Bartlett Ave. at 1 a.m. Wednesday.
■ 3100 block of N. Bartlett Ave. at 1:25 a.m. Wednesday (A suspect also fired a gun at one victim, who was not hit)
