Resisting Arrest
Location: 3000 Block of Stevens Creek Boulevard
A male suspect was confronted by Safeway employees, on the 3000 block of Stevens Creek Boulevard, on the suspicion that he had stolen items from the store. When the employees confronted the suspect, the suspect became erratic and verbally aggressive. The employees decided to walk away from the suspect. The suspect then punched two of the employees in the face.

An officer located the suspect nearby. Upon contact, the suspect became combative with the officers and had to be physically restrained. A Records check revealed the suspect had a no bail felony warrant out of Santa Clara County. He was arrested for assault, resisting arrest, and an outstanding felony warrant.

Resisting Arrest
Location: 1100 Block of Duane Avenue
An officer was dispatched to the 1100 block of Duane Avenue on a report of a hand wound from a bullet. The female subject, accompanied by two male subjects, accidentally discharged her firearm, causing injury to her right hand.

Upon further investigation, the officer determined one of the male subjects accompanying the female at the indoor shooting range was a convicted felon. The male subject admitted to using and transporting the three firearms as well as using the firearms in an indoor shooting range.

The Detective’s Bureau is reviewing this case with the District Attorney’s Office for further investigation and possible prosecution of a felon in possession of a firearm.

Grand Theft
Location: 3000 Block of Mission College Boulevard
A black male adult, approximately 18-25 years of age, broke the window of the victim's locked rental vehicle parked on the 3000 block of Mission College Boulevard and stole a laptop computer, an Apple iTouch and miscellaneous documents contained in a laptop bag. The suspect fled in a black sedan driven by another black male 18-25 years old. The suspects remain outstanding.

Driving Under the Influence
Location: The Alameda and Park Avenue
An officer observed a vehicle traveling eastbound on Bellomy Street at a high rate of speed and drive through a red light. Upon contact with the male driver at The Alameda and Park Avenue, he displayed symptoms of intoxication. Records advised the officer the suspect was operating a motor vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. The suspect refused to participate in field sobriety tests. A records check revealed the suspect had one prior DUI conviction in 2011. He was arrested and transported to the County jail.

Fraud
Location: 3700 Block of Thomas Road
An officer responded to a business on the 3700 block of Thomas Road on the report of fraud. The victim received a call from a man claiming to work for the Silicon Valley Power Company. The man told the victim he had an outstanding balance on his power bill and would need to pay off the balance today or his power would be shut off. The man told the victim to buy Green Dot Money Pack card and he would call back in an hour to receive the payment. The victim made the payment before realizing it was a scam. No suspects have been identified in this case.

Warrant
Location: El Camino Real and Nobili Avenue
An officer was traveling westbound on El Camino Real near Nobili Avenue when he observed a vehicle with an inoperable license plate lamp. The officer initiated an enforcement stop on the vehicle, making contact with the driver and its three passengers. A Records check on one of the passengers revealed an outstanding warrant for $25,000 out of San Jose. The male suspect was arrested and transported to the County jail.

Sexual Battery
Location: Monroe Street and Scott Boulevard
An officer was driving past the area of Monroe Street and Scott Boulevard when he saw a subject matching the description of a suspect from a sexual battery incident which occurred at Santa Clara University on September 2, 2014.

Officers detained the subject and had the victim assist in an infield show up. The victim positively identified the suspect. A Records check of the male suspect revealed he had an extensive criminal history that included violence and sexual assault. He was arrested for burglary, felony sexual battery, violation of probation and violation of a restraining order.

Warrant Arrest - Felony
Location: Great America Parkway and Great America Way
An officer conducted a registration check on a vehicle on Great America Way. He learned the registration was expired despite having a current registration sticker on the vehicle. The officer stopped the vehicle for the vehicle code violation.

A Records check revealed the female driver was on probation for auto theft and was driving on a suspended driver's license. She was cited for driving on a suspended license and was released at the scene. The vehicle was impounded for 30 days.

The driver’s mother was a passenger in the vehicle. She had two felony arrest warrants for burglary. She was arrested and transported to the County jail.
