SANTA ANA, CA – As part of the Cal Humanities War Comes Home: Finding Peace at the Home Front series, the Santa Ana Public Library will have the following free events during the month of September introducing challenges faced by veterans and the realities of war.
• Saturday, September 13, 2014, the library will be screening When I Came Home, winner of the NY Loves Film Best Documentary Award at the 2006 Tribeca Film Festival. When I Came Home follows Herold Noel, an Iraq war veteran who becomes homeless in New York City after returning from combat with PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). After the screening there will be presentations by representatives from the Volunteers of America and US Department of Veterans Affairs. The screening will be held from 1:30 pm – 5 pm in the Santa Ana Public Library Meeting Room A. Light refreshments will be served.
• A highlight event for the month of September is the Santa Ana Public Library’s partnership with the historic Frida Cinema in downtown Santa Ana. On Saturday, September 20, 2014 The Forgotten Eagles will screen at the Frida from 2 pm – 4 pm. The Forgotten Eagles tells the story of the legendary “Aztec Eagles” of the Mexican Expeditionary Air Force, who flew with the American 58th Fighter Group on Luzon in 1945. The film was produced by 201 Productions, Executive Producers Roger and Felicity Marrs and Producer/Director Victor Mancilla, who has made it available for viewing. This event will have special guest presentations. The Frida Cinema is located at 305 E. 4th Street, Santa Ana, CA 92701.

WAR COMES HOME: FINDING PEACE AT THE HOME FRONT
SANTA ANA, CA – Como parte de la serie War Comes Home: Finding Peace at the Home Front, la Biblioteca Pública de Santa Ana ofrecerá los siguientes eventos gratuitos en el mes de septiembre sobre los retos enfrentado por los veteranos y la experiencia de la guerra.
• El sábado, 13 de septiembre de 2014, se presentara en la biblioteca la película Cuando Regresé a Casa (When I Came Home), ganadora del Premio NY Loves Film por ser el mejor documental en el Festival de Cine de Tribeca 2006. Cuando Regresé a Casa sigue la vida de Herold Noel, un veterano de la guerra en Irak que se convierte en indigente en la ciudad de Nueva York después de regresar de combate con PTSD (Trastorno por Estrés Post Traumático). Representantes de los Voluntarios de América y el Departamento de Asuntos de Veteranos de Estados Unidos, estarán presentes para contestar preguntas y proveer información para veteranos que se encuentran sin refugio. La película comienza a la 1:30 pm en el Salón de Conferencias A, localizado en el segundo piso de la Biblioteca Pública Santa Ana.
Se servirán refrigerios.
• La Biblioteca Pública de Santa Ana presentara en el Frida Cinema localizado en el centro histórico de Santa Ana, la película Las Águilas Olvidadas el sábado 20 de septiembre de 2014 a las 2 pm. Las Águilas Olvidadas narra la historia del legendario escuadrón " Águilas Aztecas " mejor conocido como el Escuadrón 201 de la Fuerza Aérea Expedicionaria Mexicana, que viajó con el Escuadrón Americano 58 en Luzón en 1945. La película fue producida por 201 Productions, productores ejecutivo Roger y Felicity Marrs, y el productor/director, Victor Mancilla, quien ha hecho posible esta presentación. El Frida Cinema se encuentra en el 305 E. 4th Street, Santa Ana, CA 92701.
