Would you be ready if there were an emergency?

September is National Preparedness Month

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) offers ideas on ways you can prepare for an emergency in their home, business, school, and community.

1. Get a Kit - Prepare a disaster supply kit that will allow you to go without electricity, water, or access to a supermarket for at least 3 days.

2. Make a Plan - Create a family emergency plan that covers how to communicate in the event you are separated.

3. Be Informed – Be aware of resources in your community and stay connected with the media.

4. Get Involved – Look into taking a first aid class. Participate in a community preparedness exercise. Volunteer to support first responders. Talk to your family and friends about being prepared and encourage them to also prepare for a potential emergency.

Be Ready! September is National Preparedness Month. More information can be obtained on the CDC’s website.
