MEDIA ADVISORY - AMBER ALERT ISSUED

INDIANAPOLIS - At approximately 12:00 p.m., officers were sent to South Harding and Henry Streets on the report of a robbery of a person.  When officers arrived, they found a 23-year-old male saying he had been robbed, and his six week old child was taken during the robbery.

The victim told police that as he was walking down the alley and holding his son, he was approached by an unidentified white male and an unidentified Latino female.  The white male pointed a gun at him and struck him in the head with the handle of the gun.  The victim lost consciousness for a brief moment, and as he regained consciousness, he observed his infant son being carried away by the Latino female.  The suspects were last seen leaving in a blue Ford Taurus vehicle 2000 to 2003 model year with the infant.

Missing Person detectives were called to the scene to conduct a more in-depth investigation.  With the assistance of the Indianapolis Fire Department and several additional IMPD assets an extensive area search was conducted.  After several hours of searching and not finding the infant, the decision was made to request an Amber Alert.

This is an active investigation.  Detectives encouraged anyone with information to call 9-1-1 or (317) 327-6540.
