Lafayette Detective is Promoted to Squad Sergeant

Lafayette- Monday afternoon Indiana State Police Superintendent, Doug Carter announced the promotion of Detective Jerry Holeman to the rank of Sergeant, to oversee the activities of the detectives at the Lafayette Post. Sergeant Holeman, a 13 year member of the Indiana State Police, was chosen for his new position based upon a competitive selection process that included written testing, oral interview, seniority, education, and past job performance.

Sergeant Holeman began his career with the Indiana State Police in 2001 after graduation from the Indiana State Police Academy. He was sent to the Lafayette Post and was assigned White/Carroll Counties. In 2006 he was assigned to the Meth Suppression Team till he was laterally promoted to a Detective in 2009. Sergeant Holeman was a Detective till promoted to his new position.

Sergeant Holeman, a native of Reynolds, IN was a graduate of North White High School in 1989 and went into the US Marines in the fall of 1989. As a Marine he spent one tour in Iraq in the Desert Storm War. In 1997 he left the Marines and worked at Wabash National Trailer Corporation in Lafayette until applying and being accepted into the Indiana State police Academy.

Sergeant Holeman lives in White County with his family.
