Victorville- Fatal Traffic Collision Involving a Motorcycle. Major Accident Investigation Team is still Investigating

LOCATION: Hesperia Road and Seneca Road, City of Victorville

SUMMARY:
On Monday August 11, 2014, at approximately 7:03 p.m., Victorville Deputies were dispatched to a report of a single vehicle unknown-injury traffic collision involving a motorcycle that had occurred in the area of Hesperia Road and Seneca Road in the City of Victorville.
Through investigation it was discovered the motorcycle was traveling northbound on Hesperia Road having passed the intersection with Seneca Road. As the roadway curved the rider lost control of his motorcycle and it fell to the ground. The motorcycle began to slide, impacting the curb and street light on the west side of Hesperia Road before coming to rest on the dirt shoulder of Hesperia Road.
The rider sustained serious injuries as a result of the traffic collision and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Victorville Major Accident Investigation Team is still investigating whether speed played a factor in this collision.
Hesperia Road was closed in both directions in the area of the traffic collision until approximately 02:30 a.m. This is an ongoing investigation by the Victorville Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT).
