Norwalk Sheriff's Station invites you to the annual National Night Out event at Mayberry Park in Whittier on Tues, August 5, 2014.

Norwalk Sheriff's Station is inviting the community to participate in a special event!

Join us for the annual "National Night Out Against Crime" event at Mayberry Park located at 13201 East Meyer Road, Whittier, CA 90604 on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at 6 pm. There will be a march from the Community Resource Center (10750 Laurel Ave, Whittier) starting at 5 pm. The march starts at 5:30 pm and ends at Mayberry Park where free hot dogs will be served.

This will be the third year we have held the event at Mayberry Park. In the future, we will alternate between Adventure and Mayberry parks to accommodate the growing number of people participating in the event. We are also pleased to announce that NNO in unincorporated Whittier is joining with the "Concert at the Park" series. At the conclusion of the night, the concert will start.

What is National Night Out?

"It's America's Night Out Against Crime"

The "31st Annual National Night Out" (NNO), a unique crime/drug preventions event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW), has been scheduled for Tuesday, August 5, 2014 nationwide.

Last year's National Night Out campaign involved citizens, law enforcement agencies, fire departments, civic groups, businesses, neighborhood organizations and local officials from over 15,000 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities and military bases worldwide. In all, over 37 million people participated in National Night Out in 2013.

NATIONAL NIGHT OUT is designed to:

- Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness;
- Generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime programs
- Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and
- Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

Please join us for a wonderful evening at the park celebrating NNO and enjoying a free concert. There will be several different crime prevention and information booths to help prevent you from ever becoming a victim of a crime. There will also be bounce houses for the kids to play in. This is going to be a great Night Out against crime.
