Loma Linda & Redlands- Suspect Arrested for Stolen Checks. #SBCSD reminds citizens to be cautious with important docs

VICTIM(S): Bank of America
SUMMARY: On July 29, 2014 at approximately 2:15 p.m., deputies assigned to the Loma Linda Police Department responded to Loma Linda University Medical Center reference a forgery and stolen check report. The recipient of the check, who resides in the city of Redlands, discovered the check was stolen from her mailbox. During the investigation, the suspect was identified as Huy Pham. Pham is on work release through the Riverside County Sheriff's Office for a previous criminal charge and conviction not related to this investigation. He was arrested and booked into the Central Detention Center in San Bernardino.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department would like to remind citizens that mail theft and crime related to identity theft is a common occurrence. Citizens should check their mail box daily for important documents. Arrange to have billing invoices, bank account statements and mail with personal information emailed to them, when possible. This is one way to deter the theft of your personal information through the mail.
