Missing Person at Risk in San Marcos FOUND SAFE

A missing person at risk in San Marcos is back safe with his family.

A driver passing by Buena Creek Road and Monte Vista Drive just after 8:00 p.m. noticed 74-year-old Yousif Mikha walking on the road and called 9-1-1. A CHP officer nearby responded and found Mikha. Deputies then arrived on scene and took Mikha to the hospital for a checkup.

We appreciate the public's help in looking out for Yousif Mikha. We are also grateful to our Search and Rescue Volunteers who spent all day today looking for Mikha.

The Sheriff's Search and Rescue is an all-volunteer unit. Together they perform wilderness and urban rescues, as well as search for missing and at-risk persons. Be on the lookout for a missing person at risk in San Marcos. 74-year-old Yousif Mikha was reported missing just before 8:00 a.m. today (August 1st) when he left home in the 700 block of Via Bahia in San Marcos.

Family members say Mikha suffers from dementia and needs to take medication for his high blood pressure. He understands very little English, but will respond when his name is called.

Mikha was last seen wearing a black short sleeve track suit, black socks and black flip flops. He has white hair and a mustache. He is 5'7" tall and weighs 140 pounds.

Due to the hot weather and his medical condition, it's crucial that Mikha is found immediately. If you see Mikha, call the Sheriff's Department non-emergency line at (858) 565-5200
