Baker- Denny's Robbery Suspect William Redwitz Apprehended

Summary:
On July 19, 2014, at approximately 3:28 a.m., Deputies Pete Holm and Robbie Moore responded to the report of a robbery that had just occurred at the Denny's Restaurant located at 72415 Baker Blvd, in Baker. Upon arrival, the deputies were informed that a male subject, later identified as William Michael Redwitz, approached the front counter of the restaurant and produced a 2x4 piece of lumber and struck the counter multiple times demanding money from the cash register. Redwitz pushed the register monitor to the ground and fled the location with the cash register.
Through investigation, deputies were able to identify the suspect. William Redwitz was positively identified and later located in the vicinity of Schoolhouse Lane and Hwy 127 in the town of Baker. Redwitz was arrested and transported to Barstow Jail where he was booked for PC211 -Robbery.
No one was injured during the incident.
