Gov. Chris Christie has ordered flags at all state buildings to be flown at half-staff Tuesday, July 22, 2014, in honor of a fallen northern New Jersey police officer.Funeral services will also be held that day for Waldwick Officer Christopher Goodell, who was killed Thursday when a tractor-trailer crashed into his patrol car while he was checking for speeders. Officer Goodell, who grew up in the Bergen County community where he served, was pronounced dead at the scene. The 32-year-old Marine Corps veteran had served on the Waldwick force for five years and is the first borough police officer to die in the line of duty. We are requesting that you lower your flags to honor Officer Goodell on Tuesday, July 22, 2014.
