Muskegon Police Department Wishes Everyone A Safe Weekend

This weekend will see more motorists, both cars and motorcycles, in town to enjoy Muskegon Bike Time. We want this to be an enjoyable and safe event for all.

We ask everyone to take extra caution. We would like to ask car drivers to just be aware of the extra motorcycles in town and to drive cautiously. We also ask motorcyclists to be cautious as well and that we all obey the traffic laws which apply to all vehicles.

A concern for the Muskegon Police Department now and throughout the year is the mix of alcohol use and vehicles. We want everyone to make it back home alive.

While helmets are no longer mandated the Muskegon Police Department does highly recommend them for safety.

Motorcycles are required to be licensed and riders must have a motorcycle endorsement on their license and must have their license with them anytime they are riding.

While we know this is an exciting time and we want everyone to have a fun weekend, we do want to make everyone aware that we will have zero-tolerance towards drunk driving/riding and for motorcyclists having their license with a motorcycle endorsement.

Enjoy the weekend and be safe.
